Bags Packed and Ready!

So Zoey my granddaughter here is where Nana is going!!  Zoey asked me what country I was going to.  I told her maybe her dad could show her on Google but here it is too!!  So tomorrow we take off early at 6 am to head to the airport. We use our favorite transport Greg O’Conner who lives in Verrado. He gives us the best deal and is prompt.   Our flight stops in Denver where I can walk a bit and stretch my legs.  I’ve got my compression socks ready and my clothes. We packed a small bag for the hotel so we don’t have to open the big suitcases and dig around !  I carry all the medicines and Dan is responsible for the passports, money, his pad and our vaccine cards etc.  We got the new Covid shot and the new RSV along with the flu shot.  I’ve had some pretty rough days with my bowels and trying to get things back to normal.  Today was a good day but trust me I’m praying that the cramps stop and I can travel without fear of needing a bathroom immediately!!  I think that might be TMI but that has been my life since I got home from the hospital.  My leg is great.  No swelling or pain. Dan has worked hard to get the yard back in shape and washed and waxed all the cars!!!  The weather here is still hot but the nights are so much better and are plants are reflecting that.  Both my potted gardenias survived which makes me happy.  We have fed tons of birds since being home but now that will end.
As some of you know I’m a planner.  I like organization which stems from a childhood full of unpredictable parents and no organization.  I have nice calendars with our excursions and then a narrative of them all in digital and paper form.  I have been pretty successful paying for all third party tours before we go.  We watched lots of you tube videos on our ports along with reading Trip Advisor for hints and suggestions.  I promised Dan I wouldn’t fully book us like before.   So we have lots of days where we can wing it.  We hope to make it to the Falkland Islands but a lot of shops don’t make it do to weather.  Guess we have a 30% chance.
Our bed sheets are clean so we come home to that :).  We try to leave the house in good shape which helps when we get back.  We have been eating out of our freezer for three weeks!  And still I hope Tessie comes home soon and can use a few things in my refrigerator!  Ha ha

So Saturday our journey will begin. We know a few folks that will be on this trip and one of the staff we are fond of.  We are going to get him an Arizona T shirt at the airport.  He loves chips and junk food so we will make sure to get him plenty of that along the way.

If you have questions or comments please email me or leave a comment in the comment box.  I love to hear from you.  I can’t promise that this blog will really entertain you but I’ll give it my best. Stay healthy and safe.  Keep walking, singing and smiling.  They all add to your quality of life and those you meet!!
