Miraflores Peru , 🇵🇪 Callao Port

We docked here overnight and decided to just do our own thing and not book any tours.  We listened to the shore excursion talks both on our stateroom TV and in the theater.  They told us that we would have shuttle service to the area of Miraflores because it is a safer area with more things to see and do.  The shuttle ran about every 15 minutes and took almost 45 minutes each way !   But thankfully there were many buses all clean and licking us up and dropping us off at a very nice location along a very long Malecon with malls, restaurants, bike paths, surfing areas and lovely parks.  It was a lovely sunny day and time to get in more steps and exercise.

The mall there was three stories deep.  It was mostly American stores but free wifi and beautiful places to relax and take in the views of the ocean

Getting off the ship were quite a few vendors.  Some would even bargain with you!!

This was our drop off point in the center of Miraflores.  There were red geraniums everywhere!!

Stepping down to the right would lead you to the lower levels of the mall with a grocery store on the third floor.

The town looks very cosmopolitan and clean. A higher class population lives here.
Dans on a hunt for something!

This was on the bottom floor by the grocery.  So lovely!!

Wing the grocery store!

Beautiful modern art everywhere

And one of the cat parks I loved.  All of the cat parks are taken care of by the city.  They are fed every day wet and dry food and clean bowls with water.  They are all given beds too.  They love to be petted and sit on your lap.  Story has it that a pregnant cat came here and had her kittens.  Everyone took care of them. Then they began to multiply and the care continued.

On their beds!!

More happy kitties and me too!!

An interesting Hostel!  We found these everywhere.

The Pisco Sour again!!!! The drink of South America.  I’m sure we can find it in Total Wine and More!

This is the dedicated park for the cats named after JFK who came here .  The park was full of families and cat lovers of course!
More beautiful parks and unique trees

One happy kitty and his clean bowl with food

My kitty fix!!!

Well taken care of

Then we walked to the famous Indian Market which was huge and fun.

The Inka Plaza was right across the street !!

Then we met these lovely folks who are land traveling the world from the Carolinas!  We hung out and I gave them my card and blog site. He was in the Navy flying for submarine detection!  I hope they write us so we get their names and can connect.

A lovely photo done of Machu Picchu!

Beautiful art in the park!

A giant ceramic pot

Beautiful churches. Very ornate and historic

A night show for us.

This is the view from Miraflores looking down on the Malecón .  Traffic was challenging!

Here are the many surfers in wetsuits going in for a rush!!

Where we had a snack !!

I had the local beer and French fries amd Dan had hot chocolate!

And last but not least my possibly all time favorite stop!!!
