The first day we explored the area of the falls. The town has really made this a focal point with lovely walking and biking paths and picnic areas. There is interesting art too. The city has beautiful hanging baskets and cute quaint stores and boardwalk dining areas along with breweries. Dan looked for some RV parts for our water filter but I guess it will be an Amazon order when we get to Todds as we can’t find an o ring anywhere to replace a broken one. Then we did sone grocery shopping and then walked almost three miles around the falls and power station. Someone asked if we cook most meals and yes we do. Lots of times it’s a salad and chicken or soup or a breakfast like eggs but we get tired of going out and we just aren’t big eaters so this suits us better.
We took another day to go to Jackson Hole Wyoming and possibly go up the ski hill … but as you will see the valley was docked in with thick fog!!! We have been here before to both the ski hill and the town. It’s a fun typical ski resort area like Sun Valley or McCall Idaho. Lots of very expensive homes, condos and cabins. A variety of places to eat and the longest bike path I have seen!!! The bike path follows the old railroad base so it’s flat and level. Many folks were biking it, walking it or walking dogs. The weather was cool but no wind. We stopped several times for bathroom breaks, fuel, coffee and for our lunch taking in beauty and wonder!! And so far no messages from our truck!!! Thank goodness!!
Lots of snow in the high country.
The valleys are green.
We crossed over into Idaho!
Entry to the campground
Idaho Falls where powers is generated
I remember this flood. It was horrible. This was before Tessie was born. We were in Kamiah then.
The walk we took which goes all the way around in a lovely area.
Lots of power flowing here.
These cool sculpture made out of metal have living plants growing on them.
A pair of Mallards enjoying their soft grassy ready area.
The trail around the falls has newly planted flower beds adding bright colors
Check out this succulent big horn!!
Awesome colors right?
And big lush flower baskets around town
This is milkweed we found growing at a crosswalk!!! I’m not sure it was planted here on purpose but I hope the Monarchs find it!
This is an unusual eating venue which looks fun but wasn’t open yet .
I got a little bit of kitty fix at the campground. I think she lives here as she was very tame.
Heading to Jackson this was a typical farm set amidst the lush green valley with the old red barn.
Teton Scenic Hiway!! We saw all the small towns and read all about their histories.
That’s isn’t a glacier or snow! That is the valley socked in with heavy fog and clouds.
It’s not looking good for our ride up the gondola on the ski hill!
Lots of trails take off from the pass but look for grizzlies!
We saw some folks walking their skis up a huge hill in order to get in sone what of a ride down!
This little town was cute but mostly I took the photo to show you the nice paved bike trail to the right. It too follows the old rail bed
Water was high here and flowing quickly. Many rafting companies were out but I’m sure the water was icy cold and way to fast for many families
Teton Village is part of the Jackson Ski area.
Part of Jackson Hole. Lots of artsy crafty things to catch your attention.
Lovely accommodations for summer or winter travelers
Can’t ever get a photo without some vacationers in it !
This caught my attention! Pretty unique
Palisades Reservoir and Dam area
And we are almost back to the RV park. We will gas up to be ready to take off in the morning. Tonight showers, take trash to the dumpster some dinner and get things ready to pack up.
